Little Gems: Dights Falls and Abbotsford Convent walk report
A small but mighty group took advantage of a perfect winters day to walk the Dights Falls loop. The river was a perfect mirror for the surrounding bushland as we found the swimming hole which used to be so popular it had a lifesaving club. The new Studley Park boathouse is almost finished and its potential could be seen from Kanes bridge before a walk back through the sports grounds to the Falls. From there we walked to Abbotsford Convent for lunch and an amazing tour of the buildings and grounds with our volunteer guide. We had the good fortune to be led by Rema who is an architect and gave us many insights into the social, architectural and gardening history of the site. We all agreed this was a fantastic experience and one we should repeat next year.
